Fort Morgan Times, Wednesday, March 30, 1932 - page 1 MRS. MARY McCORMICK, AGED 66, DIES AT HOME OF HER SON HERE TODAY
Mrs. Mary Cummin McCormick, 66 years old, an esteemed resident of Morgan county for nine years, died at 3:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her son James McCormick, five miles north and one mile east of Fort Morgan on the Dr. Arniell place.
Funeral services, date of which has not been definitely decided pending receipt of word from relatives, probably will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Acre-Robinson Memorial chapel. Definite announcement will be made later.
Mrs. McCormick was born at Nellville(?) Ill., Nov 21, 1865. She was married to William McCormick, January 18, 1884 and for many years they lived in Harrison county, Missouri, before coming to Morgan county with their son, James, nine years ago.
Until the death of Mr. McCormick here Jan. 28, 1929, they farmed and ranched northeast of town, but since Mr. McCormick death, Mrs. McCormick had made her home with her son who is her only child.
Mrs. McCormick is survived by two grandchildren, Mrs. Eva Leis of Brush and Alva McCormick of Fort Morgan.
Four surviving sisters are Mrs. Anna Planck of Bethany, Mo., Mrs. Helen Roach of Hartley of Hartly, Tex., Mrs. Agnes Peacock of Buffalo, Iowa, and Mrs. Jennie Whitaker of Airlie, Oregon.
Surviving Brothers are Alex T, Cumming of Des Moines, Robert Cumming of Halhart, Tex., and David Cumming of Blythedale, Mo.
Mrs. McCormick was a woman of exceptional character and in her passing this county loses a woman whose passing is genuinely grieved.
