In the Centre View church, Johnson Co, Mo., Dec 9, 1890. Bro. Samuel Byerly, aged 34 years, 8 months and 16 days. He died without a moment's warning. For a number of years he had been afflicted with heart trouble, and, for the past few weeks, was complaining more than usual. While he was engaged in helping his brother to load fax [flax?] straw, fourteen miles from his home, he fell and only uttered a groan before passing away. His body was brought home and to-say [today?] was interned in the silent tomb. He was the support of a widowed mother and a sister. Services conducted by Bro. Jacob Witmore, assisted by Bro. G. W. Lentz to a large and sympathizing congregation from Matt. 24:44. Amanda Witmore.
