During the first winter of their marriage they would sit in front of the fire, read the Bible, and discuss differences. Lydia "read myself into the Church of the Brethren". Pearl (Neal) Rohrer remembered her as a "most delightful Christian woman, very concerned for her lord's work and for her children, all of whom were well taught by their mother". 6.
