President’s Message

I would like to thank everyone for their trust in me, I will try to do my best as your president this next year.

I was really happy to see our new members at the last meeting. We will be seeing some of our snowbirds leaving for the winter and we wish them the best. Up here we will be getting ready for the Holidays, don’t forget to sign up for the Christmas Party.

At our last meeting we went over the date for our next Show, our dates are Sept. 27, 28 & 29, 2002.

Again thank you for your trust and friendship and remember to stay on the path of love and friendship.

The meeting was called to order by president Donna Chavez, and every one was welcomed. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer report was read and approved. The new members were introduced to the club. Income from the show was reported as Grab Bags $1,065.25 Door $825.70 Sawdust $175.25 Wheel $666.20 Popcorn $238.15 Kitchen $2,149.95. The show was declared a success and Donna thanked everyone for their hard work, a special thanks to our kitchen staff, they did a wonderful job.

Our Christmas party chairpersons this year are Don and Ruth Smith, the party will be on Saturday, December 15th. at the Joint Venture, located behind the post office in Tooele. Happy hour at 6 PM, Dinner at 7 PM. Call Don to make reservations. The club voted to pay for our Christmas party, so come out and have a good time.

The show dates for next year were debated, it was decided that we would have our show on September 27, 28, and 29th 2002. The nominating committee nominated all officers as now constituted except the vice president. Dennis Chapman is nominated for vice president. There were no other nominations from the floor. It was moved that we vote all nominees in by acclamation. The vote installed all officers as nominated. The Eastern Great Basin committee thanked the club for their support of the Pow Wow. Donna would like to have a movie, speakers, or demonstrator for each club meeting, just like we have someone bring treats each month, we need to do this to help keep up interest in our club.

There was a question on how we get new vests for the club. At this time we do not have anyone that can sew them for us, but anyone can sew them if they have the correct colors. The club has the decals for the back of the vest.

Phil reported that their will be a field trip to Floy wash by a number of clubs this next week end, there is a lot of good rock available there. He urged anyone that can, to go.   Donna will bring the treats next month. Dennis Chapman won the door prize. The meeting was adjourned.

Club Website Is Moving:
Netscape is moving their free web service over to mywebsite, and I’m having troubles getting the club webpages to work on it, so I am looking for a new place to move it. I don’t have enough money right now to use a pay service, so until then look for it at http://mywebsite.netscape.com/tooelegem. When I get it settled I will put up a page link there. The old one http://sites.netscape.net/tooelegem should work until the middle of November.

Dear Dennis and Club Members,
I received the samples today. They are beautiful! We greatly appreciate your generosity. I wish you could see the affects of what you have done with my students. The expressions on their faces, their positive comments of enthusiasm, their interest and curiosity, and their understanding of the earth would not have happened without you. I can’t thank all of you enough for what you have given my students. You are very special people!

Best Regards,
Janet Green
