November 2000 President’s Message Well the show & elections are over for the year. I would like to thank everyone for their help at the last meeting with the election and other business. We discussed fieldtrips & rocks needed for grab bags, so lets think about the places to get what we need, and make arrangements (where necessary), then plan trips to these areas. Some of you will be gone to Quartzsite before the next meeting so have
a safe trip & an enjoyable winter.
Sincerely,
Darrel Bolinder President Subject: Minutes for October 2000The meeting was called to order by Darrel Bolinder & he welcomed everyone out to the meeting. Dennis then read the minutes for September. There were 2 correction, it wasn’t approved that we change the 2 year limit for elect officers, but to check into bylaws so we can vote on it. And the other correction was Dorothy Imlay donated the 2 cases. After some discussion the minutes where then approved. Donna then read the treasurer’s report, before expenses for the show: the kitchen made $2,203.50, the door $653, grab bags $506.68, sawdust $191.05, wheel $501.90, popcorn $92, silent auction $93.73. The treasurer’s report was then approved. There was some discussion on what should be done at the next show (mostly what the city needs to do). Darrel read some thank you letters. Ardith Higley said someone left a baking pan at the show & thanked everyone for helping in the kitchen. Dennis has a new toll free fax/voicemail number so if anyone needs to contact him this winter they can contact him there. We will no longer be able to put our sign across Main St. because they are going to pull out the poles & we also discussed about other signs, and fliers. There was some discussion about fieldtrips. The Nominating Committee of Bob Titus, Donna Chavez & Ruth Smith came up with the Elected Officer list. Donna Chavez for President, Bob Kirby for Vice President, Larry Wilson for Secretary, and Larry Higley for Treasurer. It was asked if there was anyone else who wished to run for each position, there was no other volunteers so the members on the list were elected by acclamation. The club gave a round of applause for the Elected Officers & the Officer to be. There was discussion on what it will take to change the bylaws to extend
the terms a Elected Officers. Because of the complicated way it is worded,
it was tabled to a later time. I missed who won the door prize (sorry),
the meeting was then adjourned.
