President Message

April showers put a damper on our first field trip. It was canceled because of rain. hope we have better luck next month.

We had a really great meeting with all our snowbirds home. We need to start thinking about the show in September. We also need to put our thinking cap on for some idea's for the wheel prizes. As we all heard Henry Chavez is retiring this month from the Tooele City Water Dept. with 25 years of service. I know he has plan's on staying busy in his yard and doing more with his silver work.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at May's meeting we have a lot of things to discuss. Hope everyone's health is good or on the way to recovery.

Enjoy Life's Journey, But Leave No Tracks.

The meeting was called to order by President Donna Chavez , every one was welcomed. The minutes of the last meeting was read and approved. The Treasurer report was read and approved.

The tickets for the show are being printed today , the flyers for the show have been printed, however there is one mistake , the person you contact for more information is wrong, it was decided we would have some labels made to correct this problem.

We have received two more contracts back from Harrison and McArther. We did get our meeting announced in the doings of the Tooele Transcript Bulletin, thanks to Eris, she will be doing this for all our meetings. We discussed some ways we might get more people interested in the club. It was suggested that we include special activities such as demonstrations, or videos that we will have at our meetings in the doings section of the Tooele Transcript Bulletin , we discussed the sequence of our meetings , such as should we open our meeting and then have the demonstrations and then the rest of our meeting as usual ,we will think about this idea.

It was decided that we should have a field trip for wonderstone, this will be on April 21st 2001, we will meet at the railroad crossing in Vernon. We will have a field trip to Last Chance on the 19th of May. We discussed getting a new TV it was decided to check prices and size and make a decision later. The door prize was won by Barbra Copfer. The meeting was adjourned for our silent auction and treats.

I have been working hard getting the past newsletter into PDF format (the reader can be download “Acrobat Read” free at www.adobe.com). I can get it burned on a CD soon or email out  to anyone interested, just email me  if interest. It takes about 3-4 LONG days to do a year, I am having trouble doing the page with the officers on it & the mailing page so I’m leaving them off (I can add them later if needed). As I write this, I’m to 1997-2000 in yearly files or monthly files.

The nice thing about this type format you can load a year, click find & type a key word for what  you are looking for & it finds those words in the file. Or click on the bookmarks & any month & you get the title of each article, click that & it takes you right to the article.
