February 2001 President’s Message I would like to thank everyone for their friendship & trust in me. I’ll try and do my best as your President. Our January meeting was small but we had a good time. I made an Angel Pin & I told them how to make them, everyone seemed to like it. We need to get start thinking about wheel prizes. I know the members in Quartzsite are busy collecting rock & ideas for Crafts. We also need to fill positions, if you would like to, please let me know. We need a Fieldtrip Chairman, so we can start planning some trips soon. We need to collect rocks for the Grab Bags, but we also need to get together as friends. Times change, and we with time, but not in the way of friendship. May all our paths lead to Love and Friendship. Donna M. Chavez
Tooele Gem & Mineral Minutes
The meeting was called to order by president Donna Chavez every one was welcomed . Their was no minutes because the last meeting was the Christmas party. The treasurer report was read, the report was approved as read. Darrel Bolinder's presidential message for December was read, everyone enjoyed & we all think he is a good poet. A letter from the president of the Moab points and pebbles rock club was read thanking us for our help with the American Federation and Rocky Mountain Federation show. An advertisement for a new book and video on opal was discussed, it was decided we should order this for the club. Glen McKellar passed away, it was decided we should send a planter and the clubs sympathy to his brother. Andy Lassen is not doing well, and he had to come home from Quartzsite. Ardith Higley won the door prize. the meeting was then adjourned. Submitted by,
