December 2001 President Message This special time of the year with the Holidays fast upon us, I would like to thank everyone who has help to make the club one of the best. We are blessed to have such great people. Here is a prayer for all of you. An Indian Prayer, O'Great Spirit, Whose voice I hear in the wind, and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me! I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people. I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy - myself. Make me ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes. So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame. Always follow the rhythm of nature.
Donna M. Chavez Tooele Gem And Mineral
The meeting was called to order by president Donna Chavez, every one was welcomed. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer report was read and approved. It was brought to our attention that we still need someone to be show chairman, we also need a field trip chairman. Donna ask if anyone would like to volunteer, no one did. Someone suggested that the club should donate to some worthy cause, it was suggested that we give some money to the Tooele food bank, the amount of three hundred dollars was suggested. This was approved by club vote. It was decided to try and get some publicity for the club by having Donna and other officers photographed giving the check to them. We were reminded that our club Christmas party will be December 15 at
the Joint Venture, happy hour 6 PM., Dinner at 7 PM. We were also reminded
this will be our meeting for December. It was reported that Andy had an
auto accident, he received some minor injures, he is home and doing well.
Bob Titus will have surgery in the next few days, it was reported that
Eris Kirby
Matthey Hitesman won the door prize. Larry Wilson will bring the treats
for the January meeting. The meeting was adjourned

Larry Wilson Secretary Members News Not much news this month. The gang is starting to gather down here in Quartzsite & the nights are starting to get a little bit chilly (all together POOR BABY!!!). Club Website: I went out & got a domain name and moved the club website to it. The new address is www. utahrockhounds.com/tooelegem. Not much has changed on it except I have put a list of the club library. I have contacted the major sites that have links to ours. Next step is to get our new name listed on major search engines, we were starting to get a lot of visitors coming from them before Netscape’s website changed hands. Then try and get a webpage designing program so I can start adding some bells & whistles. I would like to start show casing club members, so if anyone has some suggestions I would appreciate it. If any member would like to put up a small page, I have more room than I know what to do with & next year it doubles. Just A Reminder: Due to the fact I have to mail the newsletter up to Salt Lake to get copied, I do need articles to be put in the newsletter a bit earlier (especially around the holidays).
