President’s Message

Well here it is Dec. already & time for my last president’s message.

I had to make a lot of hard decisions in my life, being in the cattle business, away from my family with never ending work & just me to do it.

One time a few years ago I had to cut expenses & the only place I could do it was to cut down on fuel costs. This is the main reason I stepped down & didn’t run for club president. The cost of fuel going up & no end in sight. I have been spending more for fuel and misc. than I receive. Traveling 300 mile each trip to club meetings. I can’t visit many family members when I come up because they work days. I will support the club, but only attend the meetings I feel the most important. I want to thank everyone for their confidence in me. I knew this would be difficult living so far away and it’ was harder than I thought.

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. I also want to thank the one’s who have helped me and wish the best to the next years officers.

Sincerely
Darrel Bolinder
President

Members News

Nov. Minutes:
I’m sorry there is no minutes for this month. Between going to my aunt’s house for Thanksgiving & mom’s doctors appointment I have been a hard person to find. Hopefully next month I’ll have things squared away.

Quartzsite News

It’s November again & snowbirds are flying home to Winter Quarters. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to come this year, since I’ve had so many health problems & need a lot of help, but Dennis told me he would come down with me and spend the winter, so here we are & he is just like a mother hen, seeing to all my needs.

Most of our club members who spend the winter here have arrived now except for Jay & Erla Woods. They will be coming soon. Darrell & Maxine Bolinder, and Bill & Zita Smith won’t be coming this year and we will miss their happy faces & good company.

The weather is colder than usual for this time of year, but we aren’t complaining too loudly, after hearing what we’ve left behind. I’ve put my electric blanket on my bed about a month earlier than usual and oh-h-h it feels so good to my achy old bones! And I guess I’m not the only pantywaist, because there have been several evenings that there was no campfire because it was too chilly. It’s hard to admit it, but we are getting older & we aren’t
as wild & wooly as we once were. Andy brags about turning 90 this last birthday. He still makes it down to Burger King for a daily Whopper Jr., to church on Sunday, only he forgot it was Sunday last week so he missed it for the 1st time since I’ve know him, and he goes to the singles meeting every Monday. But he hasn’t been out to the campfire yet this year. So if I’m doing as much as he is by age 90 I guess I’ll be doing well.

Well, wasn’t it about this time last year the country was dealing with Bill & Monica, now it’s the never ending race for the White House. I hear an alien approached someone on the street in Washington DC & said, “Take me to your leader.” The man on the street said sadly, “We don’t have one”. Tune in next month for the next episode of this sad story.

If the good lord’s willin & the creek don’t rise,
see ya next month.
Love ya,
Lida Chapman
