President’s Message

We had a very good turn out for our March meeting. We went over several item's involving our show. As we all know we all have to pitch in and do our share of work to have a successful show. The rock bag fill will be our first step in getting ready for the show. We’re going to need help getting the flyers out, Janet has ordered the tickets and flyers.

Some of our members are back from Quartzsite, was good to see them & looking forward to seeing the others at the next meeting.

Henry and I went to the Ogden show. As always they had a really good show, and visited with some of the dealers and friends.

Always remember times change and we with time, but not in the ways of Friendship.

The meeting was called to order by President Donna Chavez, every one was welcomed. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurers report was read and approved.

We had some discussion about our show and the dealers that we could get. Donna went to the Ogden show. She reported that the University of Utah had two cases that were excellent, and that it was a good show. Advertising for the show and other club activities was discussed, it was suggested that we get some new signs made for the show, and the club should put more of our activities in the doings section of the Tooele Transcript Bulletin.

Our GRAB BAG fill will be held on June 9th. at Jay Woods place, we will have a pot luck dinner same as always. Starting time for the fill will be 9:00 AM.

Eris Kirby accepted the job of publicity person for the club.

We will have a silent auction at our next meeting so bring some good rocks.

The door prize was won by Eris Kirby. Bob and Mickey will bring the treats for next month. The meeting was adjourned.

Letter From The Editor:
Funny thing happened today, Jay or Erla must not of had a 1 cent stamp when they mailed a letter to me. I went to the Post Office to get our mail & lo and behold there was a letter with a penny taped to the envelope. No one along the way bothered to remove it.

Mom & I should start home on Apr. 5th. It has been a fun & educational winter. I would like to thank Earl and the other members for helping & putting up with me in my absence.

At The End Of The Rainbow

This year we went to Palm Springs, a beautiful trip. On our way home Vernon called over the C.B. and wondered what was at the end of the rainbow. There were so many & had such beautiful colors. It was such a beautiful drive. Melva & Byron planned the trip, and wanted to report to you all. Jay & I left Quartzsite about 8 in the morning. It was a little cloudy, when suddenly a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. It was so BIG and had so many colors that we could not count them all. Well as we were driving, it seemed like we were going to reach the end of the rainbow. We drove on & went right through it. When it hit the ground it was gone. I don’t believe very many people get this chance to see natures wonders.

Thanks Vernon for helping us to be aware of the beauties of the sky. And thanks to Byron & Melva for thinking of this most beautiful trip through Palm Springs & Joshua Tree Park.

Love, Erla
