Henry was a tenant farmer and butcher in Stoke Climsland, Cornwall. He married twice and had eight children. His second wife was Wilmot.

He was a Quaker and was jailed for several years in Saltash, Cornwall (outside of Plymouth).

From Greg Newlin: Henry Grubb of Stoke Climsland, County Cornwall, yeoman, later a butcher. Baptized there in 1617. Granted Admon. of his first wife in 1642. Named in the Protestation against the Popery, Stoke Climsland 1641/2. Joined Society of Friends and persecuted, imprisoned in 1662/3. Evicted from his house for non-payment of Tithes, February 1663/4.
