Murphy Services Will Be Today

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Church of Christ for Pleasant William Murphy, 88, retired painter who died at 10:40 p.m. Monday at a local hospital.

Brother Perry B. Cotham, minister of the Church of Christ at Wewoka, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Rocesch Brothers are in charge. Bearers will be W. T. Brown, Leroy Flinchum, W. B. Cox, W. A. Thompson and Lawrence McGee.

Murphy, a member of the Church of Christ, has lived in this community since 1901, coming here from Collin county, Texas. He had been living at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sam J Gardner, 510 North Louisa street.

Survivors include a son, P. B. Murphy, Oakland, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. Joe Lane and Mrs. G. B. Betts, all of Shawnee, Mrs. C. C. Markham, McLoud, and Mrs. C. C. Ratliff, Chicago, Ill., 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
