Fern I. Wellington
Fern Ivie Wellington, age 93, long-time resident of Payson, Utah and later of Sanford, Colorado, passed away Sunday, March 15, 1998 at Conejos County Hospital in LaJara, Colorado.
She was born September 23, 1904 in Scipio, Utah, a daughter of Thomas Bert and Clara Ann Adams Ivie. She married John Edmund Wellington, May 18, 1921 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died September 27, 1966.
Fern was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many capacities in the Primary, MIA, Sunday School, and Relief Society. She also served as a Pink Lady at the Payson Hospital for several years. Serving others in need was her greatest joy.
Survivors include: two sons and a daughter, ; 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie Adelaide Nielson, two sons-in-law, Mureal W. Nielson, Ralph A. Nelson, a brother and a sister, Duane Ivie and Susie Holfeltz.
Serivces will be Thursday, March 19, 1998, 11 a.m., in the Payson Park Ward Chapel, 110 South 300 West. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., or at the church Thursday, 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Crescent Cemetery, 11105 South State Street, Salt Lake County, at 2 p.m.
