FUNERAL HELD FOR GARDEN CITY MAN
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock in the Garden City Ward chapel, for Mr. Gared Ellis Lutz, who passed away Saturday.
Services under the direction of Bishop Milford Loveland, were as follows:
First song, "Beyond Today" by Garden City chorus; invocation by Elder C. W. Pope;, vocal duet, "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" Carrie and Ruth Pugmire of St. Charles; first speaker, Elder Clarence Cook; solo, "In the Garden of Tomorrow" Mrs. Verda Spencer of Salt Lake; second speaker, Elder Paul A. Spence; solo, "Perfect Day" Mrs. LaMont Scofield; third speaker, Elder G. H. Robinson, Laketown; solo, "Going Home" by Mrs. LaMont Scofield; closing remarks by Bp. Loveland; benediction by Counselor Wilford Hansen. Grave was dedicated by Elder Royal Pope.
A very large crowd was in attendance at the service.
The Williams Mortuary of Montpelier was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Gared Ellis Lutz was born Dec. 26, 1864 at Smithfield, Utah, and moved with his parents, when a small boy, to Garden City, where he has since resided. He was married to Miss Muse Whiting, who preceding him in death about four years ago.
Children surviving include: Mrs. Burt Maynes of Kemmerer, Wyo., Sidney Lutz of Garden City, Sherman Lutz of Ogden, Utah, Court Lutz of Logan, and Pvt. Fay Lutz of Fleming, Texas. All the children were present at the services.
Interment took place in the Garden City cemetery.
