Scipio
The death occured on Saturday, Sept. 26 of John Lawson at his home here. Mr. Lawson had been ill for two months following a sunstroke. He was in his 60th year, and had lived in Scipio twenty-five years. He was formerly an employee of the railroad and lost a leg in an accident at Milford about 26 years ago. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lida Adams Lawson and three children: Archie and James of Scipio and Mrs. Verl Coleman of Price. Also a brother living in Richfield, Utah.
Funeral services were held in the Ward Meeting House at two o'clock Monday afternoon and were well attended. The speakers were J. P. Olsen, Murray Fisher, and C. A. Memmott. Each spoke of the jovial disposition of the deceased, and told of his meeting all life's hardships with a smile. The choir sang "I Need Thee Every Hour", and "Farewell all Earthy Honors". Burke Mathews sang "Scatter Sunshine", and Mrs. Nana Monroe rendered a beautiful solo. Floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Interment was in city Cemetery.
